The Jaguar X-Type was Jaguar’s best-selling entry-level luxury sedan and its first front-wheel drive, sold from 2001 to 2009. It shared a platform with the Ford Mondeo but aimed to bring Jaguar styling and brand cachet to a smaller, more affordable package for buyers. The X-Type competed with cars like the BMW 3-Series and Mercedes C-Class and was produced at Jaguar’s Halewood plant in England.
